I have started training with at least a short walk (about 2 miles) every day. It's kind of crummy to have to walk in the cold--I'm glad that spring is coming.

At my workout height this past summer I was walking comfortably at about 10 miles a day (4 miles of that was lifestyle steps but a solid 6 miles was a planned daily walk) and I'd like to move back into that vicinity relatively soon.

Saturday was a beaurtiful day, a spring tease. We walked to Aimee's school and back via Whitcomb's Pond.

Some new residents have taken over the pond-A beautiful pair of nesting swans.

They are pretty inquisitive. They came right up to shore--leading me to think that someone has been taking care of them.

I'm looking forward to seeing the hatchlings...Which means a daily detour from my regular walking route--which is okay, it adds more mileage to the walk and gives me something to look forward to.

Sitting there in the middle of the woods, watching the swans drift across the pond and over to me will be a nice respite--both from my walking route and my life.
